Vote!

Will the real Mitt Romney please stand up?

Today is Super Tuesday; and, I hope everyone who lives in a state that has its primaries today exercises their right to vote! Texas primaries aren't until March 4th - which is pretty anticlimactic since, by then, it will likely be pretty much known who win will the primaries; but, I will still do my civic duty and vote.

Am I the only one who just can't get excited about any of the front running political candidates? I was really disappointed to see Giuliani bow out.

I am a registered republican - come November I will probably vote for the republican candidate, no matter who it is [shudder, please let it not be Huckabee or McCain].

In the republican primary I was going to vote for Giuliani. Now I will probably vote for Romney. Were I to vote in the Democratic primary, I think Barack would get my vote. I just can't stomach the thought of a Billery presidency.

But, having said that, I don't have to be excited about any of my votes. To be perfectly honest, I'm thoroughly disgusted with the whole thing. It's like asking if you want cat poop or dog poop for dinner - I don't want either! Fortunately Texas is a state that the Democrats usually concede to the Republicans; so, we don't have to listen to as much political drivil (from either party) as others do.

I used to be a TV News junkie, with FoxNews being my news outlet of choice. I don't even watch news on the TV anymore. Watching all of those talking heads drone on and on just makes me want to go out and shoot myself. I used to be a regular listener of Rush Limbaugh (a pompous schmuck, whom I happen to agree with on many issues). It's been months since I last tuned him in. These days, I get all of my news from the morning newspaper. At least, that way, I can choose which drivel to fill my head with.

Even if you are as thoroughly disgusted as I am - go out and vote!

It was sad to see Giuliani go, however we haven't had a bald president since Ike. I am so disgusted with the current administration i am taking it out on all republicans. Obama 08.

Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and Romney?

We're going to have to take away your gay card Abelard!

There's a card?!? Why doesn't anyone tell me these things? Does it give me a discount at Banana Republic?

Doesn't the fact that I've not watched Fox News nor listened to Rush Limbaugh for several months offer me some redemption? And, I'm really not voting for Romney - I'm voting against everyone else - that's got to count for something, right?

Abe,

You can be redeemed ONLY if you confess to watching "Project Runway" or "Make Me a Super Model" every week on Bravo. That would balance with your political straightness (I think), and we could perhaps be comfortable considering you as a MoHo again.

Looks like Romney tipped out. I am sorry that you have to vote for someone you don't want to vote for. But sneakers is right- the republicans had their chance.

At the very least, we know we'll be getting a president who is a better speaker than the Bush.

Sigh* We don't get Bravo here in Provo on standard cable- probably because of all the gay shows. I miss Heidi!

I have a family member who works for Bravo and I have a bunch of Enya CD's - that's gotta count for something.

Looks like Romney tipped out.

Yeah, I'm felling kinda bummed right now. If it's a choice between Billery and McCain then McCain will get my vote, albeit begrudgingly. Now, if it's Barack vs McCain then my choice is not so certain.

It's not offered on basic cable here either. Neither is the SciFi channel, the food network, etc. So, I doubt it's because of the gay overtones. After all, the way it looks out here, you guys have a much more thriving gay community than we do here where I live :)

well since we are talking politics...

I'm still waiting to hear who will be the ticket contenders. rummer is mccain/huckabee... egads! that would be awful!!!!!

on the other side we have, like you said, Billary...i'm sorry but as much as it would be cool to "make" history by putting a female in the Whitehouse....do we really want Bill as the "First Man"??? I shudder just thinking of it.

But then there is Obama....he's fresh, he's new (relativly) and he is honestly charismatic. my one concern is that he maybe a tad too socialistic.

I know my fellow Canadians are ashamed of my Centrist leanings, but Socialism is NOT the answer. The only reason Canadian Socialism survives is because of the Profits they receive from the Open Market in the US.

Universal Healthcare Sucks! Anyone with money in Canada goes to the US for real Healthcare. That is the truth. Its the average people in Canada that get stuck with a 6 inch appendectomy scar or have to wait well over 6 months sometimes over a year (like my brother) before you get access to an MRI. If you a woman forget about visiting your doctor regarding Endometriosis...it doesnt exist in Canada....they proscribe antipsychotics for treatment. oh the list go on about the lousy universal healthcare in Canada.

I only hope that Obama is not of this ideology. I want change in Washington...but I dont want to loose freedom....we have already lost too much freedom under the Bush Administration.

sorry for the rant Abe.

Draco and Abe,

My heart does go out to you! Bravo is a nice indulgence into my gayer side. I have satellite, so I also get a few other gay oriented channels. But Bravo is the most entertaining, by far.

You can always go to their web site and drool a little. :-D

As far as political candidates go, I'm writing in the Geico Cave Man!

My guilty pleasure is watching movies on Logo (a GLBT cable station).

I'm curious, what other gay oriented channels do you have?

Well everyone knows that NBC is a gay network- Jack McFarland says so:

"Wha- It's a gay network, for God's sake! The symbol is a peacock!"

And then there's Lifetime and A&E -I especially love it when I'm home for break and they have a big Murder, She Wrote marathon going on (Angela Lansbury is almost as cool as Julie Andrews).

And there seem to be a lot of people who think that PBS is gay- you have to wonder why Mr. McFeely was always making personal deliveries instead of just leaving the letters in the mailbox... and I swear that he always looked disappointed to see the camera crews there! A wonderful day in the neighborhood indeed...

Channels - yes - Logo, Bravo, I get Will and Grace on another one (can't remember which), IFC has a lot of gay stuff, and there's Ovation, which is artsy stuff but not necessarily gay. Oh, and Oxygen has the Janice Dickensen Modeling Agency. :-0
