Lost

I'm feeling lost today - like I'm falling and there is nothing I can do about it.

I should be finishing up my assignments at work

I should be working on my resume

I should be networking

I should be ...

But I just want to crawl under a rock and cease to exist.

I haven't told anybody in my ward about my impending layoff - should I? I really don't want to hear people say how sorry they are - I don't want their pity. I'm sure they're genuine - but it doesn't help at all - and it just puts me in a sour mood.

I really just want a hug right now - a man hug!

I'm sorry Abe; my digital condolences are as close to a hug as I can offer.

But they are man-condolences :-).

Maybe give it a day or two of just hibernating (no ceasing!) under a rock, and then get to the resume and networking. I'm actually in the process of the same sort of thing, in looking to move out of state, and yeah, it sucks.

I've felt this way a lot lately, sans the job thing, which...well

I can't offer a great big man hug unfortunately. I do agree they can be the best though :)

Abe!

I wish I could give you a giant hug right now! I hope things will all work out. My advice would be to get your mind off of everything for a little while. Go play and frolic in your garden to calm yourself down or sit and meditate (it works, I promise). You're smart and you'll get everything to work out for you! :)

Thank you for putting words to my own feelings today.

Of course you should! Networking is the best way to get new leads, even though that may be hard to do at first (getting over their pity etc.) but you know that 80% of all jobs are never advertised. They are filled by those who know someone who knows someone who fits that very description of what someone is looking for.

Go ahead and feel lost for now, but then, when you're ready, get the word out - and your network of ward and stake contacts is a great starting point!

BIG BECK HUGS!

I understand how you are feeling. I have no job and no idea what I'm doing in life- I'm all up for hiding under a rock! Hope you start to feel better :) + girl hug

well I am not trying to make your situation sound any less horrible then it actually is, but I am trying to mock general conference (can you sense the bitterness) but I am very sorry if this offends you... anyway like I was trying to say is I think a talk in the priesthood session addressed something like this... so I guess it's up to you... but I know your feeling of despair and not caring about anything, my school is suffering drastically because of it

Been there. It sucks. Tough to be tough when you feel wounded and vulnerable. You may surprise yourself though. You're in my prayers.

Wow, judging by the comments, you're the most popular guy in the queerosphere!

LOL, and rightly so, you're the Moho Don!

Okay, simmer down, Ezra.

Seriously, it's okay to take a few days and mope! Just don't get stuck there.

Oh, and BIIIIIGG BEAR HUGS!

Abe,

What Beck said, go ahead and sulk for a bit, but then swallow your pride and network, you never know what might come out of this. In the meantime, like the others have said:

Big brotherly hugs to you, PL

At least you have good work experience that will lead you to a great new job, unlike this guy...
