I seriously doubt that a single soul would turn to Christ because of the campaign for Proposition 8. But I wonder how many people will now turn away from Christ because of this vile campaign.Note, normally GCN doesn't allow political discussions as they often become heated; but, they made a one time exception for discussion of proposition 8 since it affects so many of the members.

I had exactly the same thoughts today.
I'm actually a registered user at the GCN... I keep forgetting to check it often...
I believe politics had something to do with the straw that broke my religious beliefs. Particularly the very un-Christian politics the church supported...
I still have a very bad taste in my mouth.
I completely agree with you. In fact, as an inactive member of the LDS church, the passing of Prop 8 has actually inspired me to break away from the church completely, and I'm trying to figure out how to get myself taken off the records now.
I just really hated that Samuel the Lamanite poster that stake presidents were sending around that portrayed him holding a "Yes on 8" sign atop the wall.
Well, that and other stuff, too. ;)
But I'm also one who hates going to Deseret Book and seeing "Hold to the Rod" lip balm.
