I'm homo for Romo

In other news, I'm starting to see "I'm Homo for Romo" T-shirts around these parts. I had to do a bit of googleing to see what this was all about. It seems Tony Romo is one of the Dallas Cowboys and, according to some, is destined to be the next great Dallas Cowboys quarterback. So, I suppose saying you're "homo for Romo" is a term of endearment of sorts. Although, I know of one high school student who was instructed by his teachers to cover it up because it has the word "homo" on it.

o o o

I'm not really quite sure what to think about this. Should I be offended? Or should I buy one and wear it proudly? Nah, then people might start talking to me about football and my eyes would glaze over - and it would become apparent that it's only the first half that's relevant.

I saw the title of this post on my google reader and was impressed that you knew who Tony Romo is. LOL. I should have known better ;)

Well to be honest, I've heard the name - since, living in the Dallas area, they talk about him endlessly on the radio; so, I knew he was a Dallas Cowboy. But I honestly didn't know he was the quarterback until I looked him up while writing this post.

Abelard,

When it comes to sports, you and I could be twins. I remember complaining one year to gay friends that "Will and Grace" had been pre-empted then my friends told me something about the World Series being played. When guys at work start talking about sports, I just stand back and observe then like an anthropologist.

Regards,
Philip

Question:

Does this shirt exist because Romo is easy on the eyes

1) even though he's straight;
2) and he's queer;
3) and whatever his orientation is, his name rhymes with homo?

...I'm assuming it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with his abilities as a football player...

Well, I'm really not learned in these matters; but, I'm going to assume #1 and #3 are the correct answers.

I'm guessing that the target demographic for this T-shirt is straight guys who have a man crush on Tony Romo.

See what you miss for not living in Texas :)

haha I didn't know who he was. I thought he was a politician. I don't know a damn thing about football :)
