I was getting tired of the lime-green background. Doesn't have to be white, (maybe rainbow sherbet would be better than lime-green)but glad to see the green go.

I agree with the Anti-Green party here. The new layout is an improvement and no doubt you will refine it further with tasteful, understated flair. No dancing hamster borders, no fluttering rainbow flag backgrounds! Simple, clean, sophisticated, authoritative. Should be no problem for you, Abelard!

It looks okay, if a bit understated. I agree that it could use some more flair, but then again, I like bold colors when I'm doing any sort of web design. :P
It may be too late, but may I suggest along with your new look and layout that you continue with your "polls"? Isn't there a place on your page for a current opinion survey?
