It seems a high school in California has elected a guy this year as prom queen. See Fairfax High's prom queen is a guy.So, what do you think about this? Is it right to have a male prom queen (or a female prom king - for that matter)? Or should some things remain gender specific?

I vote for a girl. This is one thing I think should remain gender specific.
As long as everyone named is okay with it...shoot, I don't think it's a big deal.
I think it's great. Stories like this make me very hopeful for the future.
What was the point of having a prom queen again?
I believe the point of the prom queen at my high school was to show who all the girls in school should have aspired to be, to show them what lesser beings they were, and to let the general masses know that they weren't as good as they thought they were.
How I wish I would have run for queen. I so would have won. :)
I don't see any reason they have to be gender-specific.
