Creepy

Last night I got a recorded message from John Cornyn (US Senator from Texas). He said he noticed I hadn't voted yet and urged me to vote for him.

Is it just me, or is this kind of creepy?

It just seems so Orwellian.

Call me a old fashioned - but I like voting on election day.

I voted early because I can't stand lines! And even when I voted early there was a fifteen minute wait and that was about all I could handle...

Now, to have someone call and tell me "Thanks for voting for me" or "Why didn't you vote for me" - now that will be Orwellian.

I can't stand lines

I haven't had to stand in a line since Texas instituted early voting. At most, I've only had one or two people ahead of me - usually I just walk right up, show my ID, and pickup my ballot. In fact, you're more likely to find a line during early voting than on election day - at least in my precinct.

Way creepy. Next thing you know, you will be getting a call from SLC saying, "we noticed you didn't pay much in fast offering, would you like to pay online?"

Okay, it is a bit Orwellian, we agree. On a lighter note, if you want to laugh till you cry (almost) send us your e-mail address, and then wait to get a response from the Obama campaign. It's a stitch, you'll see. Somebody in that camp is waaaay savvy.
