I am so NOT gay

Maybe I'm not so gay after all.
  • In the poll I put on my blog recently regarding favorite stores, I had 21 people vote - and not a single vote for Home Depot (I didn't vote in my poll). I love Home Depot and Lowes. I can spend hours in there just browsing around, drooling over power tools.
  • a friend of mine just bought a pickup truck - and I am so jealous! When he was showing it to me, my first thought was "I wonder how many rocks we could load into the back of that baby".
  • I have a favorite blue shirt which I accidentally ripped it recently. No problem, I got my roll of duct tape and problem solved (you can fix anything with duct tape).
  • I work out of my home, and have been doing so for a couple of years now. I still get up and shower each morning. But, shaving has become an optional activity on weekdays. I've also devolved to the point where I tend to wear the same clothes every day (much to my wife's chagrin).

Tell me it isn't true, that you go around most days in naked stubble...

Thanks for the cartoons, they are hilarious.

Oh, BTW, after any kind of kitchen store, Home Depot would be my #2 store to lose time in.

Well, you asked for the favourite store. I've never been to Abercrombie and Fitch, but I certainly don't look away when I drive/walk past :). I am in a serious, committed relationship with Williams Sonoma. I love Barnes and Noble and the Home Depot/Lowes. Just not as much as Williams Sonoma. I'm not so much into tools, but all the awesome home-improvement ideas fascinate me.

I know you know this, but just because you like Home Depot / Lowes does not make you any less gay as my liking B&N makes me any more gay.

I remember once we had a priest quorum activity fall apart and I was stuck with seven teenage boys in my car and they wanted to go hang out at a store. In the parking lot was a Home Depot and a Barnes and Noble. Unanimously, they chose to go to Barnes and Noble and a couple of them later said it was one of the best Mutual activities they ever had (says a lot about the other more organized activities we tried to do with them)!

I can always lose an hour in a good bookstore!

No, I haven't devolved to that point yet - although, I'm not dismissing it as a possibility :) Clothes are so overrated.

Do you have a Home Depot Expo in Utah? It's bigger than most Home Depot stores - and it's all home deco stuff. They don't even carry tools, lumber, gardening, etc. We also have a Home Depot Landscape Supply which is all landscaping and gardening. Man, I'm getting excited just writing about this - is it getting warm in here?

[sigh] I know. Especially when I admit to myself that the power tools aren't the only thing I'm checking out [big sigh]

I don't dislike bookstores. I could also wander around one for a while. But, I do have to be careful when I get to the photography section. Some of those books on photographing the human form ... well it's probably best that I not look at them, or so I've heard :)

The art books and photography sections are the best! And the travel books... You should try checking them out! I could drool over a sexy Italian hilltown anytime! :)
